W e don’t talk much about shame. But I've come to believe it’s one of the most powerful forces in our lives.
Everyone can think of a time when they felt useless, unlovable, or embarrassed. But for some people, this experience of shame can become part of their identity. What is shame, and how can the Gospel bring freedom from it? What can social media tell us about the way we see ourselves? How did Jesus deal with shame in the people he met? And how, after all, does God help us to get rid of our shame?
I wanted to explore these questions and find a way forward for those people whose lives have been profoundly touched by shame and need healing from it.
And then I realised that I was one of them.
